The 11U Missouri River Bats started off well in the Chesterfield Fall Baseball Tournament with an 18-6 win over the O’Fallon Sharks. Every player on the roster scored as a result of outstanding base running which included 22 stolen bases. The win extends the teams winning streak to 3 straight with wins over the Bandits, Crushers and now the Sharks. The River Bats are back at it again on Friday against the Wildcats!

The 8u and 11u squads are underway with their fall schedule. With their rosters now complete they can get the in-game experience in to improve as a team. Stay tuned for information about the fall fund raisers!

The Missouri River Bats beat the Westside Sluggers 14-7 in fall league on Saturday. The team came out of the gates slugging and didn’t let up. Good pitching held the Sluggers from the Westside at bay, not allowing them to get any kind of momentum.

The River Bats finish up the fall season with 2 last games the week of October 4th!

The River Bats finished their Summer 2010 season with a 1-3 record in the Jacksonville Wood Bat Classic. The club jumped out to a hot start in their first game and went up 6-0. But the home team Lenz Field Warriors chipped away at it and eventually won the game.

The River Bats then went up against one of the better teams in the midwest in the Leadwood Bulldogs. The team fell victim to timely hitting and good pitching.

The River Bats ended pool play with a come from behind 8-7 victory over the Troy Titans from the Chicago area. However, with a 3 seed in the semi finals the River Bats lost the rematch to the Troy Titans.

The team will only get better with the addition of the newest members to the team. Up next…Fall Ball!

The River Bats made quick work of their first two opponents and were up 2-0 in the tournament when the rains came and cancelled the 2nd day.

They will be back at it in a couple weeks at Strehl Fields.
